Miyuki Atsushi's best friend and another street urchin. When Atsushi decides to search for Chise Miyuki tags along under false pretences. Has feelings to Mariya, although he'd deny it. |

| It is the late 21st Century and the world is in chaos. 13-year-old Atsushi has just been fired from yet another job when he runs into Chise, a mysterious young girl who doesn't speak. Her uncle invites Atsushi over, and asks him to become friends with Chise. Atsushi is fascinated by Chise, and when she and her uncle eventually leave, he is heartbroken. Then, two years later, he and his best friend happen upon a portrait of Chise in a shop window, only to see it stolen soon after. Could it be that Chise is in danger...? Atsushi and Miyuki undertake a journey to find Chise and save her. |
